How We Make Your Vision A Reality

No two projects are the same but most follow similar paths. Our process is well-defined and aims to make your experience as easy as possible. Explore the following pages to see how a project is taken from enquiry to manufacture.

Send us your enquiry

Sometimes a face to face meeting is required

Discuss your requirements with a designer

You will receive a design proposal and then provide your designer with any feedback

Our designers will carry out a review

Your designer will work collaboratively with you to create a feasible design solution

Your designer will take on your feedback and create an enquiry package which will include lead times and quotation

Keeping In Touch

Adapting our designs to changes in your project, is all part of our job. We encourage a consultative working relationship with our clients so that changes that impact on your roof windows do not slow down the progress of your project.

Accept Quotation

Finalise product specification. If an enquiry has been carried out most of the hard work has been done.

Send architects drawings/plans (DWG)

Sign client acceptance drawings

Our designers will create your technical file for CE marking etc.

Our designers will create a 3D model overlaid onto your architects drawings

Detailed drawings, simulations (THERM/FEA) and calculations are carried out to ensure the reliability of the roof window

Client acceptance drawings issued in 1-10days depending on complexity

Client Acceptance Approval

As soon as you’re happy with the design, we can move on to the manufacture of your roof windows. We’ve been working in the built environment for many years and we know that timing is critical. Your deadline is our deadline and we endeavour to meet it every time.

Over to us...

Product arrives on site

Roof window installed by an experienced contractor

Your designer will create detailed fabrication drawings for our operations team

The windows are then manufactured via the process shown in this video

We are at the end of a phone if you need our support, should you require any further advice on installation or maintenance.

How We Verify Our Designs

The Rooflight Studio use the services of many well-known test houses. Through our comprehensive research and development activities we work with numerous independent bodies such as the British Board of Agrément, the British Standards Institute, TÜV Rheinland, the National Physical Laboratory, the Loss Prevention Certification Board and Secured by Design to ensure that the products we produce meet the highest quality criteria. All standard and bespoke roof windows and rooflights are manufactured to an ISO9001 accredited quality management system and our roof window systems are CE marked to EN 14351-1 which incorporates thermal transmittance, air permeability, water tightness and resistance to wind load testing and calculation by independent 3rd parties.

If your project specification requires it we can also undertake soft and hard body impact testing in collaboration with the Building Research Establishment or undertake on site surveys and 3D roof scanning with Greenhatch Group. Should a quick feasibility concept be needed we have access to the latest rapid prototyping technologies of Arrk Group.

All Rooflight Studio designers are competent to undertake in-house 2D thermal simulations of our products to ISO 10077-2 using the industry standard Therm software; as well as fully fluent in the latest 3D CAD software for product design and development SolidWorks. Our 3D CAD capability includes 3D and 2D solid modelling, photorealistic rendering, finite element analysis (FEA) and 3D thermal analysis.

At the Rooflight Studio we aim to ensure that your bespoke product meets the highest standards possible and we demonstrate this through the transparency of our product performance data and 3rd party validation.
